13th July 2008

Well the summers holding up quite good. Plenty of manic rides on the motorcycle for me, chasing rainbows and stuff. Anyway whats new in the world of SAF and all its many faces. The Dragon On The Wagon project has launched into its second album tagged 'My Name Is Zero'. Should be finished by christmas but of course the preview is available at Noisehead.  I've added a Runic Poerty section as my occult studies in to Norse magic progress. Its a lovely artform and a good expression of something other. As long as you keep in mind that the only real magic in the world lays within your own head. I'm also helping an artists friend develop his web site. More on that later when I have finished his site design. As you can tell by this self manufactured website, I'm no web wizard, but I can at least provide some kind of functional service. I'm still toying with the idea of making a music video but I need to save up for some decent video editing software. So many ideas so little time.

Peace Be Upon You,

Can't beleive time has accelerated to May already. I really don't understand how that happend. Why does time seem to compress when the warm summer starts? Before you know it the wind, rain and ice will be back to try and blow me off my motorcycle. Anyway for now it's warm and lovely. The first DOTW album is now completed and available for free through this site or if you cant be bothered to download it you can stream it straight off Noisehead (Also won't cost you a thing). So why's it all free you say? Not good enough to charge for? ... well no, thats not the reason. I could invest £500 for limited CD pressing run, then run my arse off promoting it in indie shops and Amazon until they all sold but to be honest, I cannot be arsed with all that. I'm an artist not a salesmen. I get my kicks outta staying up all night composing that killer bassline. Not trying to rip off your hard earned cash. Besides the only people making any money out of the digital download revolution are the digital download companies who, funnily enough, are ownend by those big old names Sony, BMG, Apple etc, ... who used to dominate the vinly and CD market. So nothings really changend. The elite still rule the world and were all poor blah blah blah, but I have a secret weapon. Its a little thing called 'Be Happy For What You Got' ... and I am. Thats somthing you can't DRM or copyright.

Peace and Forward the Revolution

25th March 2008

Well after much consideration I deceied to release the first Dragon On The Wagon album for free through this website. Basically because it brings me more satisfaction to know that copies are out their getting listened to than it would to know that I was a few pence richer. Eventually I will link a Paypal donation link somewhere in this site to help with my bandwidth costs. Also doing things this way means one day a copy of one of my tunes may be picked up for commercial use, so the more copies out there the better my chances of making some real money. The old record company buisness model is collapsing so you have to move with the times.

On other notes, the linux studio didn't work. Its almost there and I really did give it a good try. Maybe next year I will try again, linux just isn't compatible with the way I have grown used to writing my music.

So happy springness to you all,

31st January 2008

Well I finally coughed up the dough to get more bandwidth from web page provider so I can now rework the site and add back my graphics content. All paid up for two years so I dont have to worry about it anymore for a while.

On the music side of things, I've written the title track which for the album, Relgion Of One, which can be previewd over at noisehead. Now I have to get down to the buisness of mastering all my tracks so they sound resonably ok on the most hi-fi's and stuff. This is awkward as I mostly master on my headphones but went you then pump my tracks out of a stereo the sound can be vastly different from what I expected. Still I should get it sorted out by the summer. Also after the mastering I will be having another go at building a linux studio. I had a go last year but reverted back to a windows/cakewalk build due to the lack of facilities under linux. The main bug bear was the lack of VST compatability which has now been added to Ardour under linux. So hopefully I will be able to escape the evil claws of microsoft. You can but try.

Peace Slam.

14th January 2007

Well this site has been live now for almost two years and it appears to of had many vistors. I cut down the site to the bare details after some cheeky monkeys started deep linking my images to their sites and sending me over my band width limit. As I pay for this project all myself and its done for love and not money I really cant afford to sponsor other peoples sites with my bandwidth. Still a new year beckons and I'm still writing music tracks for Dragon On The Wagon. Amazingly I feel I am still getting better with what I do to. I'm almost happy with my studio set up and its a real joy to be producing again. I've almost finalised a listing for album release sometime this year. Working title is 'Religion Of One' and incorporates all my weird ideas about runes and the power of the unknown (as you can probaly tell by the front page I do indeed have my own religion). The latest track to added to the free down load section is Engage 2008. My new year anthem written in about 5 hours while suffering from a dose of man flu. Currently listeing to nine inch nails and his lyrics amaze me ...

'Shame On Us,
for all we have done.
God have mercy,
on our dirty little souls!'

I would love one day to work with a singer/writer and bring a bit of the humane to my tracks. So the offers there, drop us a line through the contact link up top.
Oh and have a good new year. Peace to all machine kind and all that ... and the humans? They will do whatever humans do.

8th June 2007

Well ok im going to try and make more sense now. Honest, not promising anything but the world looks a little less weird now. It's fine if you dont all talk to me at once. Men arnt supposed to multi task you know. Anyway you will notice the entrance has been tidied up a little. At least something good came out of my recent head spin. Oh and the fact that this bi-polar business is caused by stress and not illicit drugs. I wasnt smoking nothing this time! So thats worked out well. You would think I was almost trying to prove a point. No really! Anyway I've ditched the Interface pirate broadcast basically because of the hecklers and the assaults on my firewall. Really cannot be arsed with this childish pranking around anymore. I mean come on guys, get a job and or do something useful. As such i've been avoiding the screen mostly. Apart from chatting with some nice peeps that I met via Noisehead. I demod a  track by a band called Furglance on the broadcast and there pretty dam good. Hoping to go to NYC next year and see them live. Now that is cool. SAF trundles on relentlessly but is still running at a loss. Who cares though thats the not the reason we started this ... and yes it is a 'we'. After writing a breif history of how SAF came about I've released exactly how much good support its had over the years. It is a good ship and its still sailing.

May 20th 2007

Been a crazy few months but hey thats what you get in pirate waters, still as Adam Ant once said "Whats the point of robbery when nothing is worth stealing!". All is well and SAF has rebooted well enough. Goto love Alan Turing aint you. So now where. If i was playing risk, which I'm not, I would say that europe and north america look pretty solid. Still thats my tactical overview and you can take it or leave it.

5th March 2007

Well the test broadcast on Iface today seemed to go ok but will be starting properly next sunday. Looks like a motorcycle courier contract for me soon and some talks with local councillers. Which is dam weird but in light of recent events essential. Maybe the only real way to fight the system after all is to change it ... from the inside.

17th Febuary 2007

Well barring police raids going on in my block of flats its been a very productive month. SAF is now generating income, which is no small event in itself. As such a site revamp will be happening in the non to distant future now that I can pay a web monkey to sort it out for me. The reason this site looks like it was designed by a five year old with a set of crayons is I have no love for HTML. I is hardware monkey, I understand soldiering irons, logic flops and ohms law far more than I will ever understand coding. Hence why my degree studies and now pointing that way to. This summer I will be taking my Cisco Certified Engineer training and will be qualified by christmas.

Also I'm working on a remix for a brighton punk band to put out on the industrail/electronica compilation I'm preparing for release this year. It looks like I may well be on the internet radio waves again over at Interface soon to. Negotiations are ongoing but it is so far looking good.  Its all systems go here and as such very little time for games. Never did get round to the EVE-online page and probaly never will. I have closed all my games accounts to direct funds to provide decent 'Real Audio' streaming service through this site. May take a while as I'm thinking of renting a rack unit in a server house and taking it from there. Though this may well require a partner as its not sometthing, that at the moment, the budget can afford.

25th January 2007

Found a nice little music promotion and download site yesterday with a great little community called Noise Head.  It could be bigger than Isounds which does seem to be suffering from over saturation at the moment. But hey the have been around a while and do seem to know what there doing. Hopefully NoiseHead wont fall into obscurity like many other music community sites I have seen. Peace to you all.

11th January 2007

Ok first an explanation for why this site hasnt been updated in a while ... lets just say 2 months of Uveits, Needles In The Eye Ball, Couldnt read anything!

So today is the first real update. I actually managed to release my music EP and can be brought here, but off course until now I havent been able to promote it because of the whole lack of vision thing. New tracks are being made for the album for release later this year. Also many additions art work wise to the Flickr site. As for this site I have update COH web logs (which interestingly enough is the most visited page here), updated the music section which now has a funky streaming player and I will be adding over the next week or so the EVE-Online Captains Logs. Similar in vein to COH but another online game I'm playing. Unfortunately its not as funny as COH and has been desribed as a spreadsheet in space, albeit a pretty one. Oh and lastly!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! You made it out alive of 2006 ... well done :)

November 18th 2006

Whoops 'my bad' as they say. Cocked up the image linking in the new COH page. Still sorted that out now but my better half does insist you would probaly need an interest 'in that kind of thing' to make of sense of it. Personally I think shes just jealous of my virtual super hero twin sisters =-] Also welcome to the new vistors who have come via Slivis and Mandy's site. Nice to have you here. I will at some point get round to doing a proper links page for all the great art I have discovered from there sites. Peace to you all.

November 12th 2006

I like playing computer games. You may of guessed. But even if it isnt your thing I've added a chat logs section from my current favourite game, City of Heroes, that you might like to check out. It's an amusing article in its own right and no gaming knowledge is required.

Other things going on in my life are that my music has been going well and the CD is immient. Hopefully anyway, as I keep saying its about to be released then things like Uni work and job finding get in the way. Still these are the trials of a Slamial.

August 11th 2006

Well been quite busy. I have almost finshed remastering my Ep for release sometime this year. My friend Rachel has desgined an awesome cover for me so I hope it gets the desired effect. Contemplating starting my own record label for releasing my material but finacial considerations are holding me back. As in I dont have any money! Wish I could add 'buy me a record label' to my amazon wish list. Still I have recently rediscovered some cool P2P radio broadcast software that is free. You can find links to this experimental radio in the music section. So many fingers, so many pies! I'm bound to find a tasty plum in one of them :-) As for this site, the music section has been hacked and basically provides links to external music sites which can do a far more professional job of streaming and promoting tunes than I can.

April 3rd 2006

Tidied up the music section as there were far to many tracks and it all looked a bit too confusing. Just the best tracks left now which is probaly a good thing. Added a amazon wish list for those special people who like to buy me presents. Birthdays June 13th incase you didn't know. Also added a bit more to the why rant after my friend Colin tried to blow a few wholes in the argument. Thinking of adding a special rants section as there are lots of things I can whine endlessly about. Oh the joy, "I came for and argument! ... oh thats next door, this is abuse." ... Oh and I've given up on the animation for a bit until I can get my hands on some decent software. Freeware is great, except for the fact there is no budget for bug elimination.

March 13th 2006

Added animation section and midnight rant about the question why? Not producing much music at the moment and have turned my attention to 3d animation. Trying to build up a broad set of skills that will hopefully one day land me my dream job in a computer games company. You have got to keep trying havent you ;-)

Febuary 16th 2006

Site goes live. Hurray for me! Ok should really get some studying done now instead of  buggering around with web sites ;-)

Febuary 13th 2006

Well nearly 8 months later and I've finally got round to finsishing off the web site. Music section now added and approiate web host found. Just need to rustle up the £25 english pounds I need to publish this site under the old S.A.F title. Maybe it's a portent of doom using a company name that brought a whole lot of stress back in the 90's to me but you never know things may work out different this time. 10 years brings a certain maturity ... well so i'm realiably informed by the powers at be.

July 18th 2005

Ok the first few pages have been designed as I slowly remember how to do this web page type thing. Using a copy of Nvu web page scripter which is great for 3 reasons.

1. Its free
2. Its very much like Netscape composer that I used to use but doesn't have all the other crap that came with Netscape
3. Its free!

You can get your own copy here >>> Document made with Nvu <<< and even get the source code for it if your name begins with a K and ends in 'eean . Not quite sure what is going to go on this site yet. Probably some of my artwork, maybe a music track too if I feel brave enough and a few pictures of random other stuff. Still doing this keeps me off the street where I would only be molesting passers by for change and
cigarettes  =-]
